A boutique legal team supporting medical professionals (physicians, dentists, veterinarians, and practice owners) is seeking a pragmatic, solutions-focused Litigation Attorney on an ongoing contract basis (40 hours/week). This is a one-and-done interview process with an immediate start, and fully-remote flexibility is an option for strong candidates! This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys pre-litigation strategy, wage & hour/PAGA defense, and business dispute resolution, with a focus on resolving matters efficiently (often by mediation) for small-business clients.
Job Responsibility:
Support employer-side matters including wage & hour claims, PAGA defense, and individual employment disputes
Draft and review demands, cease-and-desist letters, mediation materials, and internal analyses
Assist with business-related disputes (contracts, trademarks, operating issues for medical practices)
Prepare matters for mediation and support limited arbitration work
Collaborate with a dedicated paralegal who handles audits and production
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in employment litigation (employer-side) or wage & hour defense
PAGA experience strongly preferred
Strong pre-litigation experience with demonstrated ability to support matters through mediation preparation
California barred and in good standing
Experience drafting demands, mediation briefs, correspondence, and case analyses
Familiarity with business-practice disputes (contracts, trademarks, cease-and-desist matters)
Excellent legal writing and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fully remote, independent work environment with a consistent 40-hour/week schedule
Availability to start immediately following the interview
