Our boutique law firm client is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to provide temporary, part-time coverage during an extended medical leave. The firm's practice has a strong concentration in real estate-related disputes; however, candidates with broader general civil litigation experience will also be considered. This fully remote role is best suited for a California-licensed attorney who can dedicate 10–20 hours per week, work independently with minimal supervision, and quickly become productive within an active litigation practice.
Job Responsibility
Draft, review, and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
Prepare and oppose motions, including discovery motions and other civil litigation filings
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and supporting case documents
Analyze case strategy, procedural issues, and litigation risks
Manage assigned matters and ensure compliance with court deadlines and litigation schedules
Communicate and collaborate with lead counsel regarding case developments and litigation strategy
Attend hearings and other litigation-related proceedings as needed
Provide general litigation support across a variety of active civil matters.
Requirements
Active California Bar membership in good standing
Approximately 7+ years of civil litigation experience preferred
Experience handling discovery, motion practice, and day-to-day litigation management
Ability to assume responsibility for active matters with minimal training or supervision
Real estate litigation experience preferred but not required
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Comfortable working remotely and managing workload independently
