We are looking for a litigation attorney to support a busy legal team handling a diverse portfolio of contested matters in Merion Station, Pennsylvania. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for a lawyer with 2-3 years of experience who is comfortable working on cases in both state and federal courts. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to disputes involving contracts, insurance matters, lease disagreements, tax appeal issues, and collections while sharpening writing, analysis, and courtroom preparation skills.
Job Responsibility
Represent clients in litigation matters across state and federal courts, supporting case strategy from initial assessment through resolution
Prepare motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal filings with a strong focus on accuracy, clarity, and persuasive argumentation
Manage discovery activities, including drafting requests, reviewing responses, organizing evidence, and assisting with deposition preparation
Conduct in-depth legal research and translate findings into practical recommendations for ongoing disputes and case development
Handle matters involving breach of contract claims, insurance coverage questions, commercial lease conflicts, tax assessment appeals, and collection actions
Collaborate with attorneys and internal stakeholders to evaluate risk, develop legal positions, and maintain progress across multiple active cases
Monitor court deadlines, procedural requirements, and filing obligations to ensure matters move forward efficiently and in compliance with applicable rules
Requirements
Active attorney license in good standing
2-3 years of litigation experience, preferably with exposure to both state and federal court practice
Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents independently
Hands-on experience managing discovery and supporting broader case preparation activities
Strong legal research and written communication skills
Background handling civil litigation matters, including contract-related disputes
Nice to have
Familiarity with insurance law or insurance coverage disputes is highly preferred
