Job Description:

Robert Half Legal is partnering with a reputable boutique law firm specializing in public entity defense and insurance defense to identify a Contract Litigation Attorney for a fully remote engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for a California-barred attorney with litigation and defense experience who is a strong legal writer and enjoys handling substantive drafting and case strategy work. The attorney in this role will support active defense matters and contribute across a range of litigation tasks, including drafting briefs, motions, pleadings, and discovery, conducting legal research, and assisting with overall case strategy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Draft briefs, motions, pleadings, and other litigation-related documents
  • Manage written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
  • Perform legal research and prepare analysis on case issues
  • Assist with litigation strategy for public entity defense and insurance defense matters
  • Collaborate with the firm’s attorneys in a fully remote environment

Requirements:

  • Active California bar license required
  • Prior litigation experience required
  • Defense-side experience required, ideally in public entity defense, insurance defense, or related matters
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills required
  • Open to attorneys with a range of tenure levels, provided they have relevant litigation/defense experience
