O'Hagan Meyer PLLC is seeking a litigation associate to join its Charlotte office. This is an excellent opportunity for associates to provide legal service within a sophisticated practice and who are seeking to assume a significant role in all aspects of the complex litigation process.
Job Responsibility:
Provide legal service within a sophisticated practice
Assume a significant role in all aspects of the complex litigation process
Requirements:
Legal research
Drafting of pleadings motions and other documents
Taking and defending depositions
Representing clients in mediation
Drafting and answering discovery requests
Trial preparation and trial assistance
Experience with both state and federal courts preferred, as well as state and federal administrative agencies
Strong writing and analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
This position will require some travel for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections and depositions
A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional client service
Admission to the state bar of North Carolina is required
Admission to South Carolina, Georgia, and/or Virginia is a plus
Nice to have:
At least 2-3 years of experience with any of the following: general liability, professional liability, products liability, real estate, HOA/Condominium association disputes, privacy and cybersecurity, and/or class actions
Relevant judicial clerkship experience will be credited toward the required years of experience
Admission to South Carolina, Georgia, and/or Virginia is a plus
