Job Description

We are looking for a Litigation Associate to join a respected boutique intellectual property practice in Irvine, California. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for an attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience who is ready to contribute to sophisticated IP matters involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, or trade secrets. Job Responsibility

Prepare persuasive motions, pleadings, briefs, and other litigation filings for intellectual property disputes
Conduct and defend depositions, while developing organized witness preparation materials and examination strategies
Oversee discovery activities, including document review, written responses, and coordination of case-related information
Partner with attorneys on litigation planning by helping shape case themes, legal arguments, and overall strategy
Support hearings and trial readiness through exhibit preparation, fact development, and coordination of key materials
Perform legal research and translate findings into practical recommendations that strengthen case positions

Requirements

Juris Doctor degree and active admission to the California Bar
At least 3 years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for intellectual property matters
Background handling disputes involving patent, trademark, copyright, or trade secret issues
Demonstrated ability to draft litigation documents with precision, clarity, and sound legal analysis
Experience taking or defending depositions in a civil litigation environment
Strong legal research, case management, and written advocacy skills
Licensed attorney with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid, team-oriented practice
