Litigation Associate

• Conduct initial case evaluations, including analysis of claims and investigation files
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, with a focus on summary judgment motions
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production, and deposition notices
• Take and defend depositions, including preparation of clients and witnesses
• Represent clients at case management conferences, hearings, and other court proceedings
• Perform legal research and draft points and authorities, declarations, and case briefs
• Collaborate with paralegals, client service coordinators, and other team members to ensure efficient file management
• Provide written status updates on case progress and develop litigation strategies
• Handle public entity defense cases, including matters involving dangerous conditions, negligence, and civil rights issues
• Support trial preparation, including evidence gathering, witness coordination, and budget planning

• Active membership with the California State Bar
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal environment, with a focus on civil litigation
• Strong understanding of California civil procedure, evidence rules, and discovery statutes
• Proven ability to conduct legal research and draft high-quality legal documents
• Proficiency with legal software, including case management tools, Office applications, and electronic filing systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
