This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated lawyer seeking exposure to sophisticated litigation matters while working alongside an experienced and collaborative team. The successful candidate will join a practice known for its strong client relationships, high-quality work, and collegial culture. The firm is ideally seeking a lawyer with 4–6 years of litigation experience; however, applications from candidates with other levels of experience are welcome. The successful candidate will be matched with files and practice areas that align with their background and interests.
Job Responsibility
Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk management, and dispute resolution
Manage litigation files through all stages of the dispute process
Draft pleadings, applications, briefs, affidavits, and other litigation documents
Conduct legal research and prepare written advocacy materials
Participate in mediations, arbitrations, negotiations, and other dispute resolution processes
Work directly with clients to provide practical, strategic legal advice
Collaborate with partners and colleagues on complex litigation matters while maintaining responsibility for individual files where appropriate
Requirements
Member in good standing with a Canadian Law Society, preferably the Law Society of Alberta
Ideally, 4–6 years of litigation experience, although candidates with other levels of experience will be considered
Experience in one or more of the firm's core litigation practice areas
Strong analytical, research, drafting, and advocacy skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment and manage competing priorities effectively
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
Practical, responsive, resourceful, and solutions-focused approach to legal practice
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team environment
