We are looking for a Litigation Associate to join a complex federal practice. This firm has multiple offices around the country, but is looking for an Associate onsite in San Diego, California. This opportunity is well suited for an attorney with at least a year of civil litigation experience in a high-end, writing intensive practice area. The role offers meaningful exposure to sophisticated litigation work, regular collaboration with experienced partners, and a practice environment that values strong judgment, excellent writing, and high-quality advocacy.
Job Responsibility:
craft litigation strategy
preparing cases for trial
write and appear on motions in federal courts
correspond with clients and opposing counsel
Requirements:
J.D. from a top 100 law school and active bar membership as a licensed attorney
approximately 1-5 years of litigation experience, with stronger alignment for candidates who have handled complex civil matters or mass tort/class action litigation
law review experience or a judicial clerkship viewed favorably
strong writing skills required
experience practicing in federal court is strongly preferred, particularly in matters involving dispositive motions or other substantive briefing
knowledge of finance, accounting, capital markets, or broader economic concepts is a plus
Nice to have:
an accounting or finance background
knowing about the stock market/economy
mass tort background
knowledge of finance, accounting, capital markets, or broader economic concepts
