Manage litigation matters from initial case assessment through trial with minimal supervision
Draft and argue complex pleadings, motions, and discovery-related filings
Conduct and defend depositions, participate in mediations, and represent clients in court proceedings
Develop and implement case strategies, evaluate risks, and advise clients regarding litigation and pre-suit resolution options
Conduct legal research and analysis using Lexis and other legal research platforms
Interview clients, witnesses, and experts while maintaining comprehensive case management
Oversee and manage the discovery process, including supervising staff assigned to document review projects
Participate in all aspects of litigation practice, including client intake, case evaluation, trial preparation, settlement negotiations, and courtroom advocacy
Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure effective representation and exceptional client service
Requirements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and a Bachelor's degree
Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and in good standing
Admission to the Rhode Island Bar is preferred but not required
2 or more years of litigation experience in state and federal courts
Experience in general civil litigation is required
domestic relations experience is a plus
First- or second-chair trial experience is preferred but not required
Strong knowledge of Massachusetts and federal court rules, procedures, and litigation practices
Excellent oral advocacy, legal writing, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
Experience with mediation, AAA arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings is preferred
