We are looking for a Litigation Assistant to join a busy personal injury practice in Irvine, California, and provide day-to-day support across active litigation matters. This fully onsite role is a contract opportunity with potential for a permanent position for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and partnering closely with attorneys throughout each stage of a case. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of California civil procedure, manages deadlines with precision, and helps keep files progressing efficiently from initial filings through trial preparation.
Job Responsibility
Prepare litigation documents, including subpoenas and related case paperwork, with accuracy and attention to court requirements
Coordinate service of process and oversee the collection of records and other case-related documentation from outside parties
Submit pleadings and other legal documents through state and federal e-filing systems in a timely and compliant manner
Provide ongoing support to attorneys handling personal injury matters from case opening through trial readiness
Monitor case activity, maintain litigation calendars, and track deadlines to help ensure matters stay on schedule
Organize files, update case information, and handle procedural and administrative tasks for a high-volume caseload
Communicate with courts, vendors, and internal team members to facilitate smooth case progression and document handling
Requirements
3+ years of experience in a litigation legal assistant or similar legal support role
Prior experience supporting civil litigation matters, ideally within a personal injury practice
Working knowledge of California civil procedure and court filing requirements
Hands-on experience with state and federal e-filing systems and court submissions
Strong calendar management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines effectively
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow established workflows consistently
Proficiency in managing court filings, case documentation, and day-to-day litigation support tasks
