Affinity Partnerships are seeking a passionate and skilled English Teacher to take on the additional responsibility of Literacy Lead within a thriving, community‑focused academy. In this dual role, you will lead the school’s evidence‑based literacy strategy, ensuring all pupils can fully access a challenging, knowledge‑rich curriculum. Job Responsibility:
Analyse whole‑school literacy data to inform priorities
Deliver high‑quality CPD and provide coaching to develop staff expertise
Model exceptional classroom practice and support colleagues to embed disciplinary literacy across all subjects
Coordinate targeted reading and literacy interventions
Drive initiatives that build a strong reading culture across the school
Requirements:
Qualified Teachers Status
Have a sound understanding of Secondary Education
Have excellent literacy, Numeracy, and communication skills
Have confidence supporting the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
Have experience of supporting children in all aspects of the curriculum
Will be a team player, as well as using their initiative and good sense of humour
Have experience of working with children with a range of additional needs including Autism, Speech and language difficulties and other SEND students, both in smalls groups and 1:1
Have a positive approach and be flexible to the demands of the job
