Job Description:

Affinity Partnerships are seeking a passionate and skilled English Teacher to take on the additional responsibility of Literacy Lead within a thriving, community‑focused academy. In this dual role, you will lead the school’s evidence‑based literacy strategy, ensuring all pupils can fully access a challenging, knowledge‑rich curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to improving life chances for young people by fostering confidence, independence and a genuine love of reading.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyse whole‑school literacy data to inform priorities
  • Deliver high‑quality CPD and provide coaching to develop staff expertise
  • Model exceptional classroom practice and support colleagues to embed disciplinary literacy across all subjects
  • Coordinate targeted reading and literacy interventions
  • Drive initiatives that build a strong reading culture across the school

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teachers Status
  • Have a sound understanding of Secondary Education
  • Have excellent literacy, Numeracy, and communication skills
  • Have confidence supporting the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
  • Have experience of supporting children in all aspects of the curriculum
  • Will be a team player, as well as using their initiative and good sense of humour
  • Have experience of working with children with a range of additional needs including Autism, Speech and language difficulties and other SEND students, both in smalls groups and 1:1
  • Have a positive approach and be flexible to the demands of the job
