We are recruiting on behalf of HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) for a key front-facing position within a busy Magistrates' Court. This is a dual-role position combining customer service and courtroom responsibilities. You will support the public with enquiries while also working inside the courtroom as a List Caller, announcing cases and assisting with proceedings. This role is ideal for someone who is confident, organised, and comfortable speaking in a formal environment.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting members of the public at the counter and over the phone
Providing clear guidance to court users
Preparing court lists and setting up courtrooms
Calling and announcing cases in court
Checking in defendants, solicitors, and witnesses
Escorting and swearing in witnesses and interpreters
Booking interpreters and processing timesheets
General administrative duties and data entry
Requirements:
Strong customer service experience
Reliable and punctual- ready to prepare courts before hearings commence
Confidence in public speaking or presenting
Excellent communication skills
Standard Admin skills, written and verbal communication
Good IT skills (including Excel)
Organised, reliable, and detail-focused
Ability to stay calm in a busy, high-pressure environment
