As our Liquid Developer, you’ll become part of the Liquid Development Team within our New Product Development function, helping shape the next generation of spirits, liqueurs, RTDs, and non-alcoholic drinks. Based in Warrington and reporting to the Master Distiller, you’ll work across the full liquid development cycle, from initial concept and customer workshops through to production launch.
Job Responsibility
Develop liquids to meet customer and brand briefs
Create and refine products across white spirits, brown spirits, liqueurs, RTDs, and non-alcoholic drinks
Translate customer and tasting feedback into improved formulations while maintaining project timelines
Participate in customer workshops to accelerate development and strengthen collaboration
Explore new botanicals, flavours, and market trends to identify future opportunities and innovation gaps
Transfer approved recipes into Business Central, raising ingredient and recipe codes
Support first production runs, ensuring standards, specifications, and quality requirements are met
Conduct shelf-life and nutritional testing where required
Collate specifications for raw ingredients used across products
Ensure all liquids meet legal, technical, and customer requirements
Support customer and third-party audits within the production environment
Create and maintain SOPs and work instructions to support ongoing development work
Requirements
Exceptional palate and strong interest in spirits and flavour development
Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving
Confidence working independently and collaboratively across teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding/interest in alcoholic beverage production techniques
FMCG experience is advantageous
Science degree or relevant industry experience preferred
WSET Spirits qualification advantageous
