Job Description

The Liquidity Risk Management (LRM) team is a part of the Global Treasury Organization at American Express. The team’s core objective is to ensure the Company meets its regulatory liquidity needs by forecasting the Company’s regulatory liquidity requirements, collaborating with the Funding team to ensure timely funding of those needs, and performing stress testing to ensure the Company remains compliant with all regulatory liquidity requirements on an ongoing basis. This analyst role is an amazing opportunity to provide decision support and perform regulatory liquidity risk management forecasting, stress testing, analytics, and governance activities as American Express continues to evolve liquidity processes and reporting.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform production runs and validation of LRM processes, including internal liquidity stress testing, liquidity coverage ratio, net stable funding ratio, and early warning indicators
  • Manage the aggregation of data inputs and distribution of liquidity reporting, including results, management reporting, subsidiary entities
  • Regularly identify and implement automation improvements through usage of AI tools/technology to increase efficiency in the daily reporting process
  • Support preparation of materials for committees and other management meetings
  • Analyze large data sets and summarize key messages for management to help inform the liquidity methodology, management decisions, and modelling capabilities
  • Support review, refinement, and documentation of liquidity assumptions, methodologies and processes for liquidity processes

Requirements

  • 1-2 years Finance/Treasury experience
  • Knowledge of balance sheet, income statement, and accounting fundamentals
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for partnering with both Treasury and broader American Express stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and manage competing priorities effectively and drive results while meeting critical deadlines
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and summarize results for management
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, PowerBI, TM1)
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing GenAI tools to enhance automation, analytics, and reporting efficiency
