Job Description

We are looking for a Linux Systems Administrator to join our team in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent role. This position is ideal for someone with early-career to mid-level experience who enjoys supporting Linux-based environments, maintaining on-premises infrastructure, and building practical automation skills through scripting. You will work closely with an established server team in a highly collaborative, fully onsite setting, with the opportunity to grow into broader operational responsibilities over time.

Job Responsibility

  • Administer and support Red Hat Linux and related server environments to maintain reliable day-to-day operations
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across physical hardware, virtualized platforms, and on-premises data center systems
  • Create and maintain Bash and Python scripts to automate routine administrative tasks and improve system efficiency
  • Assist with server provisioning, patching, performance monitoring, and ongoing system maintenance activities
  • Partner with team members and leadership to resolve incidents, document solutions, and support operational priorities
  • Contribute to the administration of core enterprise technologies such as Active Directory, Windows Server, Windows 10, Citrix, and Dell-based hardware where needed
  • Participate in an on-call rotation after onboarding and training, providing support for critical system issues on a scheduled basis
  • Support infrastructure updates and operational changes as assigned while following established security and administration standards

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience administering Linux systems, preferably within Red Hat environments
  • Working knowledge of Bash and Python scripting for system support or automation tasks
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms, server hardware, and on-premises infrastructure operations
  • Exposure to Linux security practices and general system hardening concepts
  • Understanding of enterprise technologies such as Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, Windows 10, Citrix, or Dell server platforms
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, receive feedback well, and communicate clearly
  • Self-motivated approach to learning, problem-solving, and taking initiative in a team-based environment
