Geon Technologies is a rapidly growing small business that provides signal processing and sensor system integration services to the United States Government (USG) and the industry base that supports them. The System Administrator will provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Experience required to support the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. The System Administrator will be part of a team evaluating system and hardware problems and will be responsible for the resolution process. They will configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems and will install/ load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Job Responsibility:
Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
Support the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
Part of a team evaluating system and hardware problems and responsible for the resolution process
Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems
Install/ load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components
Implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
Requirements:
Minimum Ten (10) years of experience as a SA in programs and contract of similar scope, type and complexity is required
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
Five(5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
Active Security Clearance Required
Experience with Container Technology: Administering large software deployments on LINUX/UNIX systems, administering clustered storage solutions (e.g. storage appliances, Ceph), Kubernetes orchestrated containers, system configuration management software (e.g. Puppet, Ansible) and change control
