Job Description:

CTS Enterprise Analytics Services organization seeks a Linux Engineering Lead Analyst to manage enterprise analytics platforms, including Starburst, Tableau, Cognos, and MicroStrategy. Responsibilities include system administration, optimization, and securing data access for cross-functional teams. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in cloud platforms, BI tools, scripting, and governance strategies.

Job Responsibility:

Administering, supporting, governing and maintenance activities for Starburst.
Leading installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of Tableau Server/Tableau Cloud.
Installing, configuring, and managing Starburst software.
Administering and maintaining Tableau, Cognos, and MicroStrategy environments.
Managing system availability, reliability, and failover strategies.
Monitoring Starburst servers’ activity to identify performance issues.
Troubleshooting Starburst issues with user access, query failures, and performance.
Ensuring compliance with enterprise security and data privacy policies.
Managing Tableau license allocation and utilization reporting.
Optimizing infrastructure costs (especially for cloud environments).
Forecasting scaling needs for Tableau Server.
Supporting platform reliability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies.
Developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and runbooks.
Providing L3/L4 support as a subject matter expert in Starburst.
Automating cluster provisioning and platform configuration.
Collaborating with engineering teams to drive analytics product development.
Conducting incident response and root cause analysis.

Requirements:

6+ years IT experience in the areas of Starburst and BI Tools Administration (Tableau)
5+ years of Linux, Shell scripting experience.
Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes-based deployments.
Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Team player with a willingness to share knowledge, cross-train, and learn new technologies.
Flexible, hardworking, self-motivated, and positive outlook with the ability to handle challenging initiatives.
Ability to prioritize, organize, make decisions, and problem-solve under pressure.
Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a geographically diverse team.
Starburst Certified Practitioner certification. (preferred)
Tableau Certified Associate or Server Certified Professional. (preferred).
