Job Description:

The organization is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator with strong Linux, virtualization, and storage experience to support a primarily on prem infrastructure environment. This role maintains the reliability, availability, and security of Windows, Linux, virtual machines, and core infrastructure that supports 24/7 operations. The environment includes modern Windows Server builds, RedHat Linux, and a large VMware footprint.

Job Responsibility:

  • Administer and support Linux (RedHat) and Windows Server environments
  • Manage virtualization platforms (VMware) across ~500 virtual machines and ~60 servers
  • Maintain and support storage technologies and related infrastructure
  • Perform system installation, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning
  • Maintain hardware environments, primarily Dell server infrastructure
  • Support identity and access systems (Active Directory, Entra ID) and M365
  • Administer and support cloud services in Azure or AWS (as applicable)
  • Assist with security responsibilities including SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, and compliance tasks
  • Create and maintain scripts (preferably from scratch) to automate tasks and improve system reliability
  • Produce and maintain documentation for processes, standards, system configurations, and inventory
  • Monitor uptime and performance using enterprise monitoring tools
  • Participate in incident response, including root cause analysis and on call rotation
  • Build and deploy software packages and support enterprise application environments
  • Collaborate with internal teams on infrastructure projects and upgrades

Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux administration (RedHat preferred)
  • High proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware)
  • Experience with storage administration in enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022
  • Experience in medium-sized enterprise environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, hardware, and virtual infrastructure
  • Ability to manage both on prem and hybrid environments (90–95% on prem today)
  • Ability to write and maintain custom scripts

Nice to have:

  • Kubernetes experience
  • RedHat certifications (RHCSA/RHCE)
  • Experience administering cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
  • Background in DevOps or infrastructure automation
