Job Description

To manage and control the activity of a production line, and to lead a team of packhouse operatives, ensuring that our products are packed to the specified quality standards in the most efficient and effective way

Job Responsibility

  • Manage a packing line and lead a team effectively to achieve line KPI’s and ensure product integrity, conformance to customer specifications, technical standards, and business procedures
  • Actively develop production operatives on the line, ensuring they have necessary training and skills
  • Carry out product assessments on raw material, during production runs and post-packing to ensure quality of finished product
  • Manage the line production plan with correct product usage as provided by Production Planner/Manager
  • Process jobs through ERP system to reflect correct running hours, product usage, yields and waste
  • Work closely with QA and compliance team to ensure standards are managed within specifications
  • Ensure strict conformance to all Health & Safety procedures
  • Actively review standard operating procedures, suggesting improvements
  • Actively participate as member of production team, providing input to daily production meetings and ongoing business improvements
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as requested by senior management

Requirements

  • Exposure to managing customer fluctuating demands and balancing resources effectively whilst maintaining conformance to specifications
  • Prior experience of managing a multi-skilled team on manual processes, preferably gained within fresh produce
  • Good general education
  • Ability to understand both written and spoken English to communicate effectively and complete required business procedures
