Job Responsibility:

  • Apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
  • Monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards in accordance with the established policies and procedures
  • Ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and ensure sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is set for the next shift
  • Supports a culture of safety by upholding safety standards and reporting injuries on time
  • Safely use all kitchen equipment and apply advanced knife skills
  • Assist the Chef and the Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs, purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory of kitchen items
  • Ensure meal and rest breaks are available to team members and accurately record all breaks
  • Assist in establishing proper par levels of finished products and ingredients and conduct inventory checks
  • Properly label, date, rotate and store all products to ensure food safety and sanitation compliance
  • Ensure production and merchandising areas are clean, safe, and presentable
  • Communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members to address needs and inquiries promptly
  • Utilize point-of-sale system to enter guest information, process take-out orders and complete sales
  • Bag orders efficiently preserving item quality and presentation
  • Set the tone for the shift and assume responsibility for shift outcomes
  • Secure the building at closing, ensuring all doors and safe are locked and the alarm is set
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary

Requirements:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of food service or hospitality industry experience preferred
  • Basic math skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage stress and work in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to problem solve effectively
  • Ability to work under time constraints and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
