Job Description:

This position is responsible for preparing and cooking all food items as specified by recipes and company standards and in a manner to ensure the safety of guests and team. Performs all functions in accordance with applicable federal/state/local laws. As well as gaming regulation, as pursuant to the (NIGC) Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), State Gaming Compact and all Policy and Procedure, Tribal Internal Controls Standards (TICS), as it pertains to the gaming operations, the mission and objectives of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe and the Otoe-Missouria Development Authority. (OMDA).

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and cook all food items as specified by recipes and company standards
  • Perform all functions in accordance with applicable laws and gaming regulations
  • Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive service to staff
  • Prepare and cook multiple orders as placed and maintain consistency of plate presentation and food quality
  • Know menu items, daily specials, and floor plan to assist in delivery of food
  • Follow all recipes for best product results and assist in all kitchen production and product manufacturing
  • Assist in products placement and rotation for all storage locations
  • Complete all requisitions as needed
  • Greet guest and team members eagerly upon arrival
  • Be able to assist with guest questions regarding promotions, events, specials
  • Maintain attendance to ensure necessary coverage
  • Maintain Departmental log(s) noting any unusual occurrences, incidents, equipment failures, safety issues, disputes
  • Help in maintaining a workplace that is comfortable, clean, and fun
  • Helps ensure the smooth delivery of food products
  • Seeks help/advice from the bar supervisor or manager as needed
  • Strives to improve the overall operation of the kitchen and the customer experience
  • Leads by example, follows direction, and ensures all aspects of the operation are met
  • Always mindful of ways to save/generate revenues for the casino
  • Holds him/herself accountable for the good of the department
  • Knows his/her weaknesses and seeks help/advice in those areas
  • Accepts full responsibility for all failures and fixes said failures ASAP
  • Knows and follows all casino policies and procedures
  • Attends all meetings that are required
  • Follows all city, county, state, federal & tribal laws
  • Understands that it takes a TEAM to accomplish our goals
  • Under all circumstances, reaches towards calmness, tact, and creativity
  • Knows and promotes current casino events and programs

Requirements:

  • Prior customer service in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Must have excellent customer service/communication skills
  • Must maintain a neat and professional appearance
  • Micros experience is preferred but not essential
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least six (6) months’ cooking experience in a restaurant preferred
  • Must be able to provide all documents required to show eligibility to work in the United States
  • Required to pass a drug test and obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Otoe-Missouria Gaming Commission
  • Otoe-Missouria Gaming Permit (may be required depending on property)
  • Food Handlers Certification
