Job Responsibility:
Apply thorough knowledge, understanding and application of culinary techniques to consistently execute menu items
Monitor all meals being served for appearance, quality standards, portion control and temperature standards in accordance with the established policies and procedures
Ensure all stations are properly set prior to service and ensure sufficient supply of high-quality mis-en-place is set for the next shift
Supports a culture of safety by upholding safety standards and reporting injuries on time
Safely use all kitchen equipment and apply advanced knife skills
Assist the Chef and the Sous Chef in controlling food and labor costs, purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory of kitchen items
Ensure meal and rest breaks are available to team members and accurately record all breaks
Assist in establishing proper par levels of finished products and ingredients and conduct inventory checks
Properly label, date, rotate and store all products to ensure food safety and sanitation compliance
Ensure production and merchandising areas are clean, safe, and presentable
Communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members to address needs and inquiries promptly
Utilize point-of-sale system to enter guest information, process take-out orders and complete sales
Bag orders efficiently preserving item quality and presentation
Set the tone for the shift and assume responsibility for shift outcomes
Secure the building at closing, ensuring all doors and safe are locked and the alarm is set
Perform other job-related duties as necessary
Requirements:
At least 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
1-2 years of food service or hospitality industry experience preferred
Basic math skills required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to manage stress and work in a high-volume environment
Ability to problem solve effectively
Ability to work under time constraints and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance and demeanor
Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Commitment to company values and team member development
Willingness to train and support team members
Ability to stand and move for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent handwashing and adherence to hygiene standards
