  • Mechanical Engineering (HND/HNC) or equivalent
  • CSWIP 3.0 / PCN Level 1 (Visual Welding Inspector)
  • Level 2 competency in UT, Radiography, or MPI/DPI
  • LEEA certifications: PLE-P1, LEG, LMM, OTC, OCE
  • Minimum 5 years lifting equipment inspection experience (including offshore)
  • Knowledge of PIC-001, PILC-003, and BSP-72-Procedure-012
  • Fluent in English with strong report writing skills

  • Verify that marine equipment and materials conform to design and construction requirements, as well as applicable regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Survey marine equipment and materials for hull, machinery, automation, electrical systems, and safety systems to ensure compliance with ship classification rules and International Maritime Organization (IMO) Conventions
  • Verify manufacturer compliance with International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) standards
  • Take technical decisions to attest compliance with applicable regulations and standards
  • Request advice from BVN lead surveyors/managers on matters deemed beyond personal responsibilities or technical capabilities
  • Back-up BVN Manager, as needed, on BVN Manager responsibilities, as delegated
  • Verify that manufacturers obtain and maintain Material Mill Certificates
  • Verify traceability of all components throughout the manufacturing process
