Job Description:

The lifeguard, under general supervision, ensures the safety of guests at the Waterpark by preventing and responding to emergencies. Ensures compliance with all rules, regulations, and company expectations.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure safety of guests at the Waterpark by preventing and responding to emergencies
Maintain constant surveillance of guests
Act appropriately in emergencies
Provide emergency care until EMS arrival
Present professional appearance and attitude
Maintain high standard of guest service
Perform maintenance duties for clean and safe environment
Prepare and maintain proper activity reports
Monitor departmental activities for regulatory compliance
Maintain Departmental Shift log
Make informed decisions to avoid safety/legal hazards
Keep informed of company communications.

Requirements:

Must be at least 16 years of age
Prefer 6 months to 1 year experience related to duties and responsibilities
CPR Certified
Current lifeguard certification from a recognized source
Must be punctual and dependable
Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors
Must maintain lifeguard certification level of physical and mental readiness
Must have adequate vision and hearing
Must be able to remain alert and concentrate for extended periods
Must be able to show initiative in the absence of supervision
Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups
Read, write and speak English
Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies
Skill in lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation
Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures
Must provide valid I-9 documentation
Must have First Aid, CPR, and AED Certifications
Must have Valid Lifeguard Certification
Must be able to swim 50 yards in 4 ft. water and retrieve 10 lbs. from bottom
Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs. and push/pull/drag up to 50-100 lbs.
