The Lifeguard is responsible for surveying the pool and conducting rescues to help weak or injured swimmers get to safety. Their duties include speaking with swimmers to enforce swimming rules keeping track of each swimmer in the water and administering first aid to injured swimmers.
Job Responsibility:
Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours
Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving
Maintains active surveillance of the pool area
Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with CCR policies and procedures, completes related reports as required
Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available
Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout the shift
Directs swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions
Closely monitoring weather reports to make sure guests remain safe
Maintain a clear pool environment
Other job-related duties or special projects as assigned
Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years old
Certifications required: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Basic First Aid
Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
Must present with emotional maturity
Proficient with critical thinking and decision making
