Job Description

Sotogrande International School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Lifeguard/Backup Monitor to assume this role for our Summer Camps in Sotogrande. The main responsibility of the Lifeguard/Backup Monitor is to ensure the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of all campers, both in and out of the pool. As a certified lifeguard, they will supervise campers during pool time (usually three or four times a week), ensuring a safe and fun experience at all times. However, this role is not limited to lifeguarding. The Lifeguard/Backup Monitor will also serve as a key member of the monitors team, assisting with a wide range of camp activities and supporting the staff whenever necessary. This includes stepping in to cover for other monitors when they are off, helping with group activities, and providing general support to ensure the smooth running of the camp. In addition to their lifeguarding duties, the Lifeguard/Backup Monitor will build strong, supportive relationships with campers, helping them feel comfortable, safe, and engaged throughout their stay. As a residential position, they will live on-site and be available to ensure campers’ safety and happiness at all times, whether during structured activities or free time. The Lifeguard/Backup Monitor is expected to be flexible, adaptable, and ready to assist with the overall camp experience, making a positive contribution to both the camper and staff experience.

Requirements

  • Valid Permission to work within the EU
  • Curriculum Vitae with picture attached in the upper right-hand corner

  • Valid Lifeguarding qualification
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • English level required: Advanced or Proficiency (C1-C2)
