Effective and prudent assessment of risks that are processed within the operational underwriting
Provide thorough and robust justifications of decisions and refer cases to third parties including Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and re-assurers
Communicate well both verbally and in writing to give clear instruction & reasons for decisions
Manage customer expectations and portray Guardian’s high standards and underwriting services
Act as the point of contact for Customer Services team and distribution teams
Provide retrospective underwriting of cases for the claims area and claims committee
Ensure Guardian’s Customer Services proposition for both advisers and customers is delivered ensuring that the quality of our services continues to meet and be recognised for leading the market
Requirements
Minimum of 12 months experience in Life & Health Protection Underwriting within the UK market
Ability to work and collaborate with colleagues at all levels and with external parties
Identifying various Customer types and adapt accordingly
