Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer to join our team, focusing on the rigorous testing and quality assurance of our cutting-edge LiDAR products. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong programming skills, a passion for data analysis, and experience in building robust test solutions for complex systems.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, and deploy V&V hardware and software test solutions, systems, and automated test fixtures necessary for comprehensive Lidar sensor characterisation and validation
  • Contribute significantly to the implementation and maintenance of the test software architecture using industry best practices
  • Utilize strong Python skills to develop scripts and programs for test automation, data acquisition from sensors, and post-processing of results
  • Design and develop scenes containing objects placed at several range locations to characterize Lidar systems is a controlled environment
  • Execute detailed test plans, protocols, and test cases (functional, performance, reliability, environmental, etc.) on Lidar systems
  • Manage, process, and analyze large datasets generated from testing activities to identify performance trends, system anomalies, and root causes of failures
  • Generate accurate and timely V&V reports, including detailed test results, summaries, and documentation required for compliance and internal review
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (R&D, Hardware, Software) to review requirements, ensure testability, and drive timely issue resolution
  • Participate in defining and refining the overall V&V strategy and best practices under the guidance of the V&V Manager

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in Verification and Validation, Test Engineering, or Quality Assurance for complex hardware/software systems
  • Experience working with electromechanical or optical systems (experience with Lidar or similar sensor technology is a strong plus)
  • Strong proficiency in Python for test scripting, automation, and data analysis
  • Proven experience contributing to or implementing test software architecture and frameworks
  • Experience with data analysis techniques and tools for handling large datasets (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, MATLAB)
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Knowledge of measurement instruments and data acquisition hardware
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability in report generation
  • Highly analytical, methodical approach to problem-solving, and meticulous attention to detail

Nice to have:

  • System-level understanding of Lidar systems, including optics, mechanics, signal processing, and embedded software
  • Experience with Lidar perception concepts (e.g., point cloud processing, object detection) or other automotive sensor modalities (camera, radar)
  • Familiarity with industry standards for safety-critical systems, such as automotive safety (e.g., ISO 26262)
