Airswift is seeking a Licensing Engineer to support a major nuclear client on a long-term contract in Richland, WA.
Job Responsibility:
Provide leadership, management direction, and consultation to new nuclear Licensing and Environmental staff to assure nuclear safety, licensing, and regulatory issues are identified, addressed, and resolved
Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to Senior Management on matters affecting regulatory and project performance
Create and communicate the vision, strategic objectives, and key business initiatives for the Licensing and Environmental team
Represent the organization with applicable regulators, industry work groups, workshops, and conferences
Prepare and monitor department performance related to project milestones, finances, and commitments
Establish policies and procedures that govern Nuclear Development Licensing and Environmental activities
Provide regulatory support for significant station initiatives and/or organizational objectives
Interface with Engineering Projects team members, other plant organizations, representatives of supporting vendors, peers in the industry, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission
Provide the regulatory and technical support for assigned tasks following defined station processes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and seven years of engineering experience in a technical environment, with at least two years in a Department of Energy or Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulated nuclear environment
OR PE license obtained by accredited examination and seven years of engineering experience in a technical environment, with at least four years in a Department of Energy or Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulated nuclear environment
High school diploma or GED required
At least one diverse assignment
Requires knowledge and ability to apply advanced engineering techniques, practices, theories, and methods to identify and solve complex problems
Ability to mentor others in advanced techniques and develop/maintain training materials on topics associated with Regulatory Affairs
Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office Suite products
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to cater to non-technical audiences or audiences with varying levels of technical proficiency
