To deliver commercial results for the BBC Studios Asia business through by managing day to day relationship with licensing agents and licensees for consumer products (e.g. toys, publishing, merchandise). Build the BBC Studios brands in across the Asia Region with a focus on BBC brands including Bluey. This role is based in Tokyo.
Job Responsibility:
Manage day to day relationship with licensing agents and licensees for consumer products
Keep accurate and updated forecasts for each licensee, maintain sales and retail listings for ongoing deals
Work closely with relevant teams to ensure timely delivery of information and assets
Facilitate internal approvals for product design, development activities and go to market strategy
Assist with undertaking market, competitive and customer research and analysis
Collate projections and feedback from the business
Manage the approval process for deals and new opportunities
Work closely with the Marketing team to maintain an aligned market strategy and assist with delivering Regional 360° marketing campaigns
Managing agent and licensee queries with regards to assets requests
Assist with development and execution of B2B and B2C events
Oversee creation of sales support materials and brand presentations
Attend trade fairs, presentations and industry events
Requirements:
Communication and analytical skills required. Ability to effectively and tactfully deal with diverse staff at all levels in Asia, the UK and global teams
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Influencing others, particularly those in other countries
Self-starter with the ability to see projects through to completion, problem solve, and multi-task under time constraints
3-5 years experience in a commercial environment. Prior experience in character licensing is desirable, but not mandatory
Track record of working with local or world class brands. Marketing and brand strategy experience an advantage
Proficient in spoken and written Japanese and English
