This job is for a Junior level position. Join our dynamic Global Trade Licensing & Sanctions team at BAE Systems' Corporate Headquarters in Falls Church, VA, and embark on a rewarding career in global trade. As a Licensing Analyst II, you will play a critical role in ensuring our company's adherence to complex export regulations and laws. This is an entry level position in Global Trade Licensing at our headquarters offices, which reports into the BAE Systems, Inc. Legal Department.

Job Responsibility:

  • Apply basic ITAR and EAR regulation concepts to routine licensing scenarios
  • Prepare straightforward license applications with appropriate supervision
  • Process standard export exemptions/exceptions with guidance
  • Prepare and review basic export and import documentation with oversight
  • Track license status and help maintain license history records
  • Maintain accurate compliance records following established procedures
  • Assist with responding to routine compliance inquiries from business teams
  • Support periodic export compliance assessments and audits
  • Begin building knowledge in specific product areas or compliance procedures
  • Apply GT systems and tools effectively while adhering to standard procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., international business, law, or logistics) and 2 years of experience
  • Eager and energetic individual with high acumen and ability to understand, synthesize, and learn quickly and correctly
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with regular supervision but growing independence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized with strong attention to accuracy and compliance
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • US CITIZEN

Nice to have:

  • 1-2 years of experience in export compliance, licensing, or a related field
  • Familiarity with ITAR and EAR regulations

  • Conduct secondary screening of third parties (vendors, partners, customers) , and assess potential matches against government watchlists of denied, debarred, sanctioned, or restricted parties to ensure compliance with applicable trade compliance, export control and sanctions regulations (e.g., U.S. Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC"), U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security ("BIS"), U.K. Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation ("OFSI"), European Union, and United Nations)
  • Assist with export classification determinations and licensing requirements for software products and services, including evaluation of Export Control Classification Numbers ("ECCNs")
  • Support the company's compliance with applicable data protection regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Support the Corporate Counsel, Data Privacy, AI, Cybersecurity with data protection initiatives and obligations including data mapping exercises, processing activity records, and privacy impact assessments, and coordinate responses to data subject access requests ("DSARs") and privacy-related inquiries
  • Support privacy management tools and platforms for consent management and privacy workflow automation
  • Partner with company counsel, InfoSec, and other stakeholders with compliance audits, data privacy questionnaires, and third-party risk assessment processes including vendor due diligence and ongoing monitoring
