As a Licensed Shift Engineer at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining the heart of our building operations — ensuring our Boiler and Chiller plant, major systems, and mechanical infrastructure operate smoothly around the clock. Job Responsibility

  • Operate and monitor commercial boilers, chillers, and related equipment
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, safety inspections, and repairs
  • Oversee daily operation of the hotel’s Boiler and Chiller plant
  • Conduct preventive maintenance using a Windows‑based system
  • Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Read blueprints/schematics and respond to equipment or guest needs
  • Maintain accurate logs, inspections, and shift documentation
  • Assist with emergencies and support safe hotel operations

Requirements

  • 2nd Class Stationary Engineer License required
  • 3+ years of experience working with commercial boiler and chiller plant operations
  • Building maintenance experience required
  • hotel experience preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read technical schematics
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for weekends and holidays
