As a Licensed Shift Engineer at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining the heart of our building operations — ensuring our Boiler and Chiller plant, major systems, and mechanical infrastructure operate smoothly around the clock. Job Responsibility:
Operate and monitor commercial boilers, chillers, and related equipment
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, safety inspections, and repairs
Oversee daily operation of the hotel’s Boiler and Chiller plant
Conduct preventive maintenance using a Windows‑based system
Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Read blueprints/schematics and respond to equipment or guest needs
Maintain accurate logs, inspections, and shift documentation
Assist with emergencies and support safe hotel operations
Requirements:
2nd Class Stationary Engineer License required
3+ years of experience working with commercial boiler and chiller plant operations
Building maintenance experience required
hotel experience preferred
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read technical schematics
Solid communication skills and ability to work independently
Flexible schedule, including availability for weekends and holidays
A commitment to safety, efficiency, and delivering exceptional service
