Job Description:

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors for a California state correctional facility in Vacaville, California. These positions are 6-month contracts with the ability to extend.

Job Responsibility:

  • On-Call Services: Provide on-call support for patient emergencies, including consultation and crisis intervention, during scheduled workdays
  • Initial Evaluations: Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including assessing criminal, psychological, and substance abuse histories to determine patient needs and recommend treatment
  • Suicide Risk Evaluations: Perform suicide risk assessments, review clinical data, document findings, and consult with other professionals as needed
  • Patient Meetings: Meet with patients for crisis intervention, group therapy, and in-person interviews, which may include visits to inmate housing units requiring stair climbing and long-distance walking
  • Psychiatric Assessment: Identify and assess psychiatric disorders, consult with medical personnel and other staff, and manage presenting symptoms and potential adjustments

Requirements:

  • Current California LPCC or LMFT License
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
