We are hiring a Pediatric Private Duty LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) in the Thibodaux area to provide pediatric private duty care day shifts. We offer FT/PT hours, flexible schedules! Job Responsibility:
Providing direct nursing care as prescribed by the physician to acutely ill, and/or chronically ill patients in their homes
Recording clinical and progress notes
Coordinating other patient care activities/services to provide the highest quality of patient care
Provides direct skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with the plan of care
Utilizes the E.V.V. (Electronic Visit Verification) program as applicable
Prepares equipment and material for use according to the plan of care, practicing appropriate procedure technique, including Administers medications as prescribed by a physician and permitted by law
Assists with teaching the patient and/or family members regarding the patient care needs and other related problems of the patient at home
Ensures confidentiality of patient records/information
Attends team meetings and staff meetings to enhance team communication and coordination of quality services
Observes, records, and reports (1) signs and symptoms
(2) reactions to treatments and medications
and (3) any change in the patient's physical or emotional condition in a timely matter to the Registered Nurse and physician as applicable
Participates in the organization's Performance Improvement and Compliance programs and adheres to policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Must meet educational/experience requirements outlined in the laws of licensure states
A minimum of one (1) year of acute care experience preferred
previous home care experience preferred
Must have current LPN licensure in state of practice
Current driver's license, vehicle insurance and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation
Current CPR certification required
LA: Current LPN Licensure in LA without restrictions. At a minimum, one (1) year of experience working as an LPN.
