The LPN in the Ambulatory and Outpatient Clinic provides high-quality clinical support with a primary focus on laboratory operations. This role is responsible for performing specimen collection and processing, point of care testing, and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards, for both adult and pediatric patients. The LPN ensures patient flow, maintains specimen integrity, and supports provider teams by delivering safe, compassionate and timely care.
Job Responsibility:
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care or arrange for the provision of appropriate care
Appropriately and accurately documents all patient care/interactions in patient medical record
Participates in telephone triage by obtaining clinically appropriate data and symptoms
Ensures that all ordered laboratory and diagnostic tests are tracked and logged
Pre-visit planning with provider and care team
Medication administration, including injections
Check vital signs, height, weight
Assist with reviewing medication history and updating medication list
May assist with satisfaction of pertinent health maintenance requirements
Assists providers during procedures and examinations and performs instrument and room clean-up
Reports patient's condition and reaction to the provider following procedures, medication administration, or treatments
Assists with patient inquiries for prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral authorization
Participates in electronic documentation of care
May enter orders in EMR (computerized physician order entry CPOE) per provider order
