Job Description:

This position will be responsible for performing direct nursing care to individuals in a correctional facility. The successful candidate shall demonstrate a valid Illinois License and good oral and written communication skills, be a self-starter, and be able to carry out nursing pursuant to the direction of medical personnel in a correctional setting.

Job Responsibility:

  • Makes rounds with physician to monitor and report on patients’ progress
  • Examines, recognizes, and interprets symptoms of patients
  • Orders medical and other supplies
  • Prepares and administers medication within the limits of authority
  • Participates in completing orientation and in-service training of employees
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Requirements:

  • Illinois license as a Practical nurse
  • One (1) year of practical nursing experience
  • Ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check
  • Ability to pass a drug screen
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
