About the Job We are looking for a Licensed Millwright at our Walker Compost & Packaging Facility in Arthur, ON. Our millwrights perform preventive and curative maintenance on a wide variety of mobile and fixed plant equipment at our site in Arthur, ON. This position will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The wage for this position is $43.00/hour.

Job Responsibility

  • Inspecting machinery and equipment to detect defects and irregularities
  • Using welding equipment and power tools to fabricate parts during maintenance or set-up of machinery
  • Interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings to follow work procedures
  • Troubleshooting in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and requirements
  • Repairing or replacing defective components using hand and power tools
  • Designing, welding and manufacturing custom parts when needed
  • Performing PMs
  • Exercising good judgement and discretion in prioritizing maintenance repairs
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to established safety protocols and best work practices

Requirements

  • Millwright license, completion of an apprenticeship program in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting
  • Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details makes sure work is done correctly and thoroughly. Keeping accurate records
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety and environmental regulations and legislation
  • Able to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required

Nice to have

Experience as a heavy duty equipment mechanic (421A) is an asset
