Robert Half Permanent Placement is partnering with an established logistics company in Niagara Falls, NY on their search for a Licensed Customs Broker. This is an in-office role with a starting salary of $75,000 plus benefits. This is a great opportunity for a skilled Customs Broker to build a long-term career with a growing organization.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee end-to-end import and export processes, including preparation and submission of customs documentation (declarations, invoices, shipping documents)
  • Ensure full compliance with all customs laws and regulations, including proper classification, duty calculation, and permit acquisition
  • Act as the primary liaison between clients, government agencies, and customs authorities to facilitate clear communication and issue resolution
  • Provide expert guidance to clients on customs procedures, regulatory requirements, and best practices for efficient clearance
  • Collaborate with shipping and logistics teams to coordinate timely movement of goods and support smooth customs clearance
  • Maintain accurate, organized records of all import/export transactions and required documentation
  • Stay current on evolving trade regulations, tariff changes, and industry trends impacting international shipping
  • Deliver responsive, professional customer service to clients and stakeholders, ensuring a seamless and compliant trade process

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of customs laws, regulations, and international trade practices, with a valid customs broker license required
  • 2+ years of experience required
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate classification, documentation, and compliance
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple shipments and meet strict deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, customs authorities, and logistics partners
  • Proficiency in customs software, computer systems, and relevant tools, with prior experience in customs brokerage or related fields preferred
