Job Description:

The License Compliance Operations Specialist conducts comprehensive research and profiling of leads for the License Compliance team. This role leverages internal databases including usage metrics, entitlements, and contractual data alongside external resources such as corporate databases, industry research tools, and market intelligence platforms. The primary objective is to identify and maximize compliance opportunities with organizations operating outside of licensing agreements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Gather and integrate data related to customer contracts, entitlements, and licensing agreements
  • Investigate software intelligence data, including information collected from authorized software installations and unauthorized installations
  • Conduct web-based research to profile organizations, including company size, business activities, customer base, and hiring patterns
  • Enter and maintain accurate, comprehensive data within the License Compliance Force.com database
  • Communicate investigation findings to License Compliance representatives and provide strategic insights based on research outcomes
  • Support the License Compliance team in conducting market research and competitive analysis
  • Collaborate with the License Compliance team on investigative tasks related to non-compliant organizations

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience utilizing open-source intelligence (OSINT) and investigative techniques
  • Experience with software usage telemetry analysis
  • Strong understanding of IT fundamentals, including business network architecture, corporate domain structures, name servers, DNS, IP addresses, and MAC addresses
  • Proficiency in online research methodologies and external investigative tools, including WhoIs databases, port scanning tools, Google Maps, DNS databases, LinkedIn, and business directories
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across global teams and time zones
  • Meticulous attention to detail and patience when managing large datasets

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Force.com or Salesforce.com platforms
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL and Python for data extraction and analysis
  • Knowledge of Power BI
  • Knowledge of regional corporate databases
