Buckinghamshire Libraries are looking for a passionate Library Resources Officer to join our welcoming team in the Buckingham area, supporting both Buckingham Library and Winslow Community Library. This is a customer-facing role which will require you to be present at a specific site location each day. You’ll work in a team with shared goals and ambitions, with a focus on customer service and building partnerships with local organisations and community groups.
Job Responsibility:
Directly deliver library services to customers and resolve complex enquiries
Be responsible for opening and closing the library, ensuring the building is in good order and carrying out regular health and safety checks
Work with service colleagues to maintain a diary of planned activities and partner events to develop the library as a community hub
Be proactive in marketing and monitoring the use of Library Flex including training library customers in its use
Support in delivering the library service, resolve complex customer enquiries, maintain stock and work with and supervise a group of volunteers
Requirements:
Passionate about libraries and their role in transforming lives
Experienced in working as part of a team
Proactive in workload and a support to colleagues
Brilliant at helping customers with enquiries
Skills to promote and help customers access digital services
Enthusiastic to develop the library as a community hub
Passionate to support and deliver community events
Experience in supervision and supporting staff or volunteers in delivering professional customer service
Willing and able to work at multiple locations
Must be willing and able to travel to libraries across Buckinghamshire
