Job Responsibility:
Registering children for Summer Reading Club
Assisting with promotion, displays and programming
Interacting with children on return visits
Other library duties
Requirements:
are enthusiastic about reading and can model reading as an enjoyable & preferable activity
are a university student who enjoys working with children of all ages
are approachable and willing to try different ways of engaging children
must be registered in the Young Canada Works online candidate inventory and meet program eligibility criteria
Nice to have:
work well as part of a team and can share and implement creative ideas
have some knowledge of children's literature and are looking to gain more
can impart the same information over & over again with the same passion & enthusiasm
like to have fun at work
enrolment in Library School, Library Technician program, or a faculty of Education
proficiency with Excel, Google Docs, Publisher and other current technologies
