Job Responsibility:

  • Registering children for Summer Reading Club
  • Assisting with promotion, displays and programming
  • Interacting with children on return visits
  • Other library duties

Requirements:

  • are enthusiastic about reading and can model reading as an enjoyable & preferable activity
  • are a university student who enjoys working with children of all ages
  • are approachable and willing to try different ways of engaging children
  • must be registered in the Young Canada Works online candidate inventory and meet program eligibility criteria

Nice to have:

  • work well as part of a team and can share and implement creative ideas
  • have some knowledge of children's literature and are looking to gain more
  • can impart the same information over & over again with the same passion & enthusiasm
