Job Description

The library is the heart of the school’s learning community and focus for learning resources within the school a place where all students of all abilities feel comfortable. It is constantly evolving and developing to take account of both the changing curricular needs and outside pressures. The librarian is the expert used by the school community for inquiry and research. Librarians support critical literacy, information literacy, technology literacy and multimodal development as part of their work. The librarian will be expected to consult the teaching staff, usually through the Curriculum Leaders on their needs, and the continuing relevance of the stocks already held. S/he will also advise the teaching staff of the resources available on a temporary basis from elsewhere, providing assistance, where appropriate, on particular projects.
