Job Description:

We’re ALTEN Technology USA, an engineering company helping clients bring groundbreaking ideas to life—from advancing space exploration and life-saving medical devices to building autonomous electric vehicles. With 3,000+ experts across North America, we partner with leading companies in aerospace, medical devices, robotics, automotive, commercial vehicles, EVs, rail, and more. As part of the global ALTEN Group—57,000+ engineers in 30 countries—we deliver across the entire product development cycle, from consulting to full project outsourcing. When you join ALTEN Technology USA, you’ll collaborate on some of the world’s toughest engineering challenges, supported by mentorship, career growth opportunities, and comprehensive benefits. We take pride in fostering a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.

Job Responsibility:

  • On‑Site Representation: Serve as the direct, on‑location representative for the European contracting team at the U.S. manufacturing site
  • Maintain consistent oversight of production activities and establish working relationships with engineering personnel, production teams, and program leadership across all partner organizations
  • Reporting & Documentation: Deliver daily production updates (1–3 times per day), summarizing status, observations, and responses to information requests
  • Prepare formal weekly reports capturing trends, issues, progress, and insights related to manufacturing processes
  • Provide clear, unbiased information that supports operational and strategic decision-making
  • Meeting Participation & Schedule Coordination: Attend daily sync meetings with the European team (typically early morning U.S. time) and additional program meetings aligned with European working hours
  • Participate in weekly schedule-alignment meetings with the U.S.-based technology provider to track timeline changes and communicate rationale to the European program manager
  • Serve as a communication bridge across teams working in multiple time zones
  • Support for Visiting Engineers: Assist visiting engineers from the European team during periodic on-site inspections, including gathering data, preparing materials, and completing simple hands‑on tasks to optimize their limited time on-site
  • Coordinate closely with manufacturing and engineering personnel to ensure readiness for technical reviews
  • Monitoring Production Activities: Observe and document manufacturing operations on the production floor, adapting to varying access restrictions depending on which partner personnel are on site
  • Maintain situational awareness even when access is limited or controlled by partner policies
  • Provide the European team with accurate, real‑time insights into manufacturing conditions
  • Cross‑Organizational Communication: Provide timely answers to operational questions related to equipment status, staffing, quality issues, or production flow
  • Work to overcome information bottlenecks when communication via email is delayed or incomplete
  • Exercise diplomacy in environments where partner organizations may limit access or control information flow
  • Portal & Data Management: Use elevated access privileges to upload documents and data into the European team’s secure online portal
  • Assist partners who lack similar access by serving as the local point of contact for portal submissions

Requirements:

  • Technical Aptitude: Engineering or manufacturing familiarity is beneficial but not required
  • Ability to understand technical processes well enough to observe, interpret, and communicate production activity
  • Exceptional Interpersonal Skills: Ability to operate in politically complex environments where cooperation may vary and where the role may be viewed with caution or skepticism
  • Strong relationship‑building skills across multiple organizations
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Comfortable working in a role that evolves over time and requires developing new processes, communication norms, and reporting structures from scratch
  • Able to adjust quickly to shifting access constraints, changing priorities, and dynamic partner expectations
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication appropriate for daily operational updates and higher‑level weekly executive reporting
  • Able to present information clearly, concisely, and objectively
What we offer:
  • mentorship
  • career growth opportunities
  • comprehensive benefits
