Job Description:

Keyano College’s Sport & Wellness Centre is currently seeking a Liaison, Fitness & Programming to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for providing supervision of the Fitness Centre during opening hours (445am) and closing hours (11pm). The standard shifts for this role are Sunday: 745am-345pm, Monday and Tuesday: 445am-1245pm and Wednesday and Thursday: 3pm-11pm. The incumbent ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming fitness environment by maintaining facility cleanliness and equipment standards. This position is also responsible for monitoring access to the Fitness Centre and track, ensuring that only authorized members and users enter and utilize the facilities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide front-line support to members and guests in person, by phone, and via email
  • Respond to inquiries regarding fitness classes, facility usage, bookings, and general information
  • Enforce facility rules and ensure valid access to fitness spaces
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness equipment and facility spaces
  • Lead and perform weekly preventative maintenance on cardio and circuit equipment
  • Liaise with preventative maintenance provider on which units are broken/down
  • Arrange site preventative maintenance visits, and repair visits
  • Coordinate monthly cleaning of portable fitness equipment
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and assess/report equipment damage
  • Ensure all equipment is safe, functional, and well maintained
  • Oversee all student recreation programming in collaboration with Student Wellness and Student Life
  • Develop and deliver programming that supports student mental health and recreational needs
  • Partner with internal departments to create and maintain student drop-in schedules and training sessions
  • Manage all fitness facility bookings, including the aerobics studio, high-performance studio, and track
  • Ensure required equipment is prepared and available for bookings
  • Provide or coordinate training sessions as requested
  • Oversee community partnerships for community trainers and instructors
  • Provide onboarding training to new students in recreation team
  • Oversee youth recreation programming, including facility bookings and training

Requirements:

  • Post Secondary Diploma in one of the following: Sport and Recreation Management, Fitness leadership, Recreation, Business Management, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Office Administration Diploma
  • Minimum 6 months related experience
  • Personal trainer certification (Can Fit Pro-PTS, OR CSEP-CPT or Equivalent)
  • Youth camp or sport experience, experience with booking and point of sales systems
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Experience in fitness, recreation, or facility operations preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
