We are looking for an experienced Liability Defense Attorney to join our insurance defense practice based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania in greater Philadelphia (Montgomery County). In this role, you will handle a variety of detail-oriented and premises liability cases while providing exceptional legal representation to insured clients and insurance companies. The ideal candidate is skilled in litigation, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is dedicated to managing their time efficiently.
Job Responsibility:
Represent insured clients, including doctors and physicians, as well as insurance companies, in liability defense cases
Manage a caseload of detail-oriented liability and premises liability matters, ensuring thorough preparation for court proceedings
Conduct depositions, draft motions, and oversee the discovery process with precision and attention to detail
Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and detailed reports on case status
Utilize legal billing software, including ProLaw and NetDocuments, to track time and manage case documentation efficiently
Prepare legal briefs and other necessary court filings to maintain compliance with procedural law
Answer client inquiries promptly and maintain strong, detail-oriented relationships
Collaborate with colleagues to help grow the firm's presence and reputation in the region
Ensure contemporaneous timekeeping and meet the annual billing requirements of 2,000 hours
Stay proactive in addressing case developments and identifying opportunities for strategic legal actions
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, including civil litigation and insurance defense
Admission to the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar is required
New York Bar admission is a plus
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Proficiency in using legal billing software, such as ProLaw and NetDocuments
Strong skills in drafting motions, briefing, and defending depositions
Demonstrated ability to manage discovery processes and prepare for court proceedings
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
Commitment to meeting billing requirements and managing time effectively
