Requirements

A minimum of 5 years’ Commercial Underwriting experience
Has/is working towards professional qualifications
A well-rounded understanding of different product classes
Possess substantial knowledge of the insurance industry
Have the ability to underwrite complex risks
Display proven trading capability
Possess strong interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
IT competent, particularly with Microsoft Office applications

Requirements

Strong experience within the construction sector of the insurance industry
Effective and compelling communication skills
Proficiency in analysing and utilising data to make informed decisions
Meticulous attention to detail
Familiarity with pertinent market conditions pertaining to specific classes/portfolios
Thorough understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks
Comprehension of class-specific underwriting principles and reinsurance practices

Job Responsibility

Build and enhance relationships with brokers, industry associations, business partners, reinsurers, and colleagues
Continuously advance expertise and technical acumen through suitable development programs
Underwrite insurance risks in alignment with the business plan and personal authority
Ensuring compliance with contract certainty requirements for the production and issuance of documentation
Stay abreast of all advised Construction claims
Assist in coordinating Risk Engineering activities for the existing portfolio
Contribute to and influence the review and analysis of the portfolio
Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and best practices to mitigate risk

Requirements

At least 2 years liability underwriting experience with an MGA or Insurer preferably in construction liability
CII optional
Strong communication skills
Ability to trade with agents on individual cases and overall accounts
Knowledge of underwriting and administration processes
Technical competency to underwrite products to an intermediate level

Job Responsibility

Underwriting transactional risks in accordance with binder parameters
Quoting new business cases and renewing existing policies primarily on contracting business
Quoting new and renewal construction and contracting business for various sections of cover
Developing broker and insurer accounts throughout the UK
Promoting products to brokers via telephone and broker office meetings
Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Maintaining and developing agent relationships
Reviewing business issues with broker account managers and supporting resolution as necessary
