Life as an LGV Driver… It doesn’t have to be built on long-haul road trips and overnight lorry cab kips. Not everyone is content with big-money kicks from nightshifts and five-day stints away from home. Are you an LGV Driver with a Class 2 licence and CPC? Do you offer multi-drop experience – from any industry? If so, particularly after everything that’s gone on in recent times, why not put yourself in the driving seat? From bin tipping to skip collecting, the LGV Driver role focuses on waste streams from commercial premises across Wiltshire – but you do not need existing waste industry experience to be considered.

Requirements:

A Class 2 LGV/HGV lorry licence holder
Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualified
A lorry driver with some previous multi-drop experience, in any industry
Enjoy meeting a variety of customers, new and regular
Someone who appreciates good customer service and representing a business
Happy to be busy and out and about in all winds and weather

Drive vehicles legally and safely, using tachographs as required by transport legislation
Assess driving conditions regularly, especially in severe weather, to ensure public and employee safety
Operate and monitor on-board systems (e.g. weighing, telematics, safety devices) according to procedures
Report accidents, breakdowns, and near misses promptly, including any damage, and complete necessary documentation
Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance, including power mechanisms and weekly weighbridge/sump cleaning, using PPE
Check and maintain fuel, oil, and water levels at the start and end of each shift
Ensure vehicle is roadworthy and emptied before parking, or report remaining waste
Deposit waste and recyclables at designated facilities, using the weighbridge when needed
