Job Description:

As an LGV Driver at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a company vehicle, delivering and collecting waste or recycling materials. You will help us provide an outstanding service to our customers while ensuring safety and compliance at every stage.

Job Responsibility:

Driving and operating company LGV vehicles safely and efficiently
Ensuring vehicle loads are secure, safe, and compliant with legislation
Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects promptly
Maintaining tachograph records and complying with Working Time Directive rules
Keeping your vehicle clean and well maintained
Completing all necessary paperwork for the loads you carry
Communicating customer issues or complaints to your supervisor
Supporting FCC’s commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards

Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role

Drive vehicles legally and safely, using tachographs as required by transport legislation
Assess driving conditions regularly, especially in severe weather, to ensure public and employee safety
Operate and monitor on-board systems (e.g. weighing, telematics, safety devices) according to procedures
Report accidents, breakdowns, and near misses promptly, including any damage, and complete necessary documentation
Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance, including power mechanisms and weekly weighbridge/sump cleaning, using PPE
Check and maintain fuel, oil, and water levels at the start and end of each shift
Ensure vehicle is roadworthy and emptied before parking, or report remaining waste
Deposit waste and recyclables at designated facilities, using the weighbridge when needed
