Job Description

We are currently recruiting an LGV Driver to join our client in Ballymena , working on behalf of our client, Mid and East Antrim

Job Responsibility

  • Perform pre-use vehicle checks and submit reports to the line manager
  • Drive vehicles legally and safely, using tachographs as required by transport legislation
  • Assess driving conditions regularly, especially in severe weather, to ensure public and employee safety
  • Operate and monitor on-board systems (e.g. weighing, telematics, safety devices) according to procedures
  • Report accidents, breakdowns, and near misses promptly, including any damage, and complete necessary documentation
  • Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance, including power mechanisms and weekly weighbridge/sump cleaning, using PPE
  • Check and maintain fuel, oil, and water levels at the start and end of each shift
  • Ensure vehicle is roadworthy and emptied before parking, or report remaining waste
  • Deposit waste and recyclables at designated facilities, using the weighbridge when needed
  • Operate sweepers to clear litter, leaves, and debris from public areas
  • Assist with loading/unloading vehicles, using mechanical aids when necessary

Requirements

  • Valid Category C LGV Licence
  • CPC Card
  • 1+ year continuous LGV driving experience
  • Pass driving assessment
  • Declare any active penalty points (codes assessed for role relevance)
